Overview

We had the pleasure of creating the brand identity for a new skincare brand led by Australian-born founder, Kristin, who had a clear passion for genetics and the human microbiome. Kristin’s goal was to create a skincare line that not only improves the skin but also incorporates the latest genetic research.

Our approach

Through our initial discovery workshop we understood that she wanted to create a clean skincare line that was close to her heart and home of the Northern Territories in Australia. Her approach to skincare was simple. "Skin is skin." Kristin aimed to merge science and beauty in her brand, spotlighting potent probiotics sourced from Australian native bush foods to retain the health benefits found in traditional bush medicines. This inspired our naming journey, seeking to echo the skincare products' origins and the essence of their land-based ingredients. Thus, 'Skin Territory' emerged as the perfect embodiment.

The results

The Skin Territory logo design deliberately maintains simplicity, serving as a distinctive typographic word-mark that elegantly embodies the essence of the brand name.

SIMPLE & STRONG, MODERN & MULTI-LAYERED

Its crisp typography delicately captures the multi-level concept inspired by the landscapes of the Northern Territories terrain and the intricate layers of the skin. Utilising a contemporary semi-serif typeface, the uniquely elongated base of the K&R and elevated l's create a dual-tiered effect within the wordmark, symbolising the stratified essence of these layers.

We provided a complete brand identity package, including a colour palette inspired by the diverse and vibrant landscapes of the northern territories. This palette extends seamlessly to packaging and marketing materials, ensuring a cohesive visual representation across all touchpoints.

Skin Territory has recently been honoured with several vegan beauty awards for their probiotic mask, and we take pride in having crafted a brand identity that will pave the way for their continued success in the future.
